SEE IT. QUESTION IT. TEST IT. UNDERSTAND IT.

Ainthavinit Media exists to uncover overlooked issues, challenge accepted norms, and bring important conversations into the public eye. Through independent storytelling, investigation, education, and community engagement, we empower everyday people with the knowledge to question what they're told, understand what affects their lives, and demand better answers from the institutions, industries, and systems that serve them.

Where We Start

The stories that matter most are often the ones nobody's covering. Not because they aren't happening — but because covering them costs something. Ainthavinit Media exists to pay that cost.

We are independent. No advertiser, no political party, no corporate interest — only the public and the truth. Funded by readers, select grants, and merchandise from local businesses who believe in this community.

We investigate overlooked issues, challenge accepted norms, and give ordinary people the information they need to ask better questions and demand better answers.

Behind the Tap

A Northeast Ohio Water Investigation

What's really in the water we drink? We're following Northeast Ohio's drinking water from Lake Erie and groundwater sources, through treatment plants and distribution systems, through aging service lines and household plumbing, and ultimately to the kitchen faucet. We're not starting with an answer. We're starting with a question.

  • Following the water from Lake Erie to the kitchen faucet
  • Testing homes before and after filtration — publishing every result
  • Examining the gap between treatment plant compliance and tap safety

The $50,000 Mission

20 Families.
20 Solutions.

One question: What happens when information becomes action?

Our goal is to raise $50,000 to identify 20 Northeast Ohio families with legitimate water-quality concerns and provide appropriate water-treatment solutions at no cost to them.

But there's an important difference: we test first. Not everyone gets the same water filter. We test, understand, treat, retest, and publish every result.

Compliance at the Plant Doesn't Mean Safety at the Tap

The water leaving Cleveland's treatment plants may meet every federal standard. What happens inside the pipes between the plant and your glass is a different question — and one worth asking.

The Toxin Is in the Lake. Why Isn't It in the Water?

Harmful algal blooms produce cyanotoxins in Lake Erie. Cleveland Water says none have been detected in finished drinking water since monitoring began in 2010. We want to understand exactly what stands between a bloom and someone's faucet.

What Would We Find in Northeast Ohio's Private Wells Today?

A 2009 study found coliform bacteria in 45% of private wells in two Northeast Ohio counties. That study is old enough to justify a question: what would we find if we repeated it now?

About Ainthavinit Media

We're Not Like the Others. That's the Point.

Learn More About Us

Ainthavinit Media was built on a simple premise: the stories that most need to be told are the ones that are hardest to tell. We exist to tell them.

We are independent journalists, documentary filmmakers, data analysts, and community organizers. We are not funded by corporations, political parties, or government agencies. We are funded by people who believe that accountability journalism matters. Together, we strengthen communities — through projects that educate, inform, and give people the tools to ask better questions.

We don't have a political agenda. We follow the evidence. And we publish what we find — including the results that surprise us.

Support the Work

Independent media doesn't fund itself.

Every investigation we publish, every document we obtain, every community we visit — it all costs something. Your support makes it possible. And it keeps us answerable to no one but you.
